5 Tips Prospects to Hockey Alberta’s U16 Invite List

Silvertips prospects continue to turn plenty of heads across provincial and USA Hockey camps this offseason. On Tuesday, Hockey Alberta announced their list of top 80 invited players to the 2016 Summer Camp, scheduled for July 5-10 in Camrose.

Below are the Tips draftees invited to participate with Hockey Alberta:

WHO: Ethan Browne
HOMETOWN: Sherwood Park
DRAFTED: 2016, 1st round (14th overall)
THE SKINNY: Left shot forward … 77 points (39g-38a) in 36 games this season for the Sherwood Park Flyers Bantam AAA (AMBHL) squad, trailing only Peyton Krebs – the WHL’s first overall selection – in league scoring … tied for second in league scoring, ranked second in goals, and was third in assists while earning Sherwood Park’s Most Valuable Player award … tied the scoring lead in the Alberta Cup with 10 points (6g-4a) in five games … was second with six goals and scored in every game.

WHO: Dylan Holloway
HOMETOWN: Bragg Creek
DRAFTED: 2016, 6th round (121st overall)
THE SKINNY: Left shot forward … was 3rd on the Calgary Flames AMBHL squad with 31 points, 33 games … stepped into three games of playoff action with the Northwest Calgary Athletic Association Stampeders (Minor Midget) and was the club’s second leading playoff scorer after just one game of regular season experience.

WHO: Aaron Hladiuk
HOMETOWN: Calgary
DRAFTED: 2016, 6th round (124th overall)
THE SKINNY: Left shot defenseman … led all Calgary Flames (AMBHL) defensemen with 22 points in 36 games … collected an assist in five games at the Alberta Cup with the Flames.

WHO: Conrad Mitchell
HOMETOWN: Thorsby
DRAFTED: 2016, 7th round (139th overall)
THE SKINNY: Left shot forward … turned 15 on Jan. 25 … checks in at 6-foot-3, 191 pounds … was the tallest and fourth heaviest player in the league … 5th on Leduc (AMBHL): 24 points in 36 games.

WHO: Alex Young
HOMETOWN: Calgary
DRAFTED: 2016, 8th round (168th overall)
THE SKINNY: Right shot forward … turned 15 on Mar. 22 … tied for fourth in tournament scoring at the Alberta Cup with eight points (5g-3a) in five games … tied for second in club scoring … earned a point or better in four of five tournament games … tied the Calgary Royals (AMBHL) lead with 18 goals in 34 games.

In total, the Silvertips have 12 prospects participating in Hockey Canada provincial or USA Hockey camps this summer.
