Austin Lotz Earns an AHL Contract


The Tucson Roadrunners, American Hockey League affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, announced today that goaltender Austin Lotz has been signed to a two-way AHL contract.

Lotz, 21, spent four seasons between the pipes for the Silvertips, going through with a 75-63-17 record, 2.96 GAA, .902 save percentage and 11 shutouts in his career for both Everett and Medicine Hat.

Lotz’s numbers and rankings, all-time as a Silvertip:

  • Games played – 164 (3rd)
  • Minutes played – 9,010 (3rd)
  • Wins – 72 (2nd)
  • Shutouts – 10 (Tied, 3rd)
  • Wins, season – 31 (2013-14)
  • Shutouts, season – 5 (2013-14)

Lotz was originally selected by the Silvertips in the seventh round (150th overall) of the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft, and most recently participated in development camp this year with the Winnipeg Jets.

Tucson’s general manager, Doug Soetaert, led the Silvertips as general manager from 2003-05 and 2006-12.
