LAST GAME (EVT 5 – SEA 3)

NEXT UP:  Opening Night for the Silvertips 15th season in the WHL is Saturday, Sept. 23 at XFINITY Arena (7:05pm) against the Portland Winterhawks. They begin the regular season with back to back home games and host Tri-City on Sunday at 4:05pm.

NOTES ON THE SEATTLE THUNDERBIRDS
Led by head coach Matt O’Dette, replacing Steve Konowalchuk in July … the Thunderbirds are coming off their first WHL title in franchise history … goaltender Carl Stankowski is scheduled to return for his second season, but the Thunderbirds move on without Mathew Barzal, Ethan Bear, Keegan Kolesar, Ryan Gropp, Alexander True, and Scott Eansor – who combined for 371 points last regular season … defenseman Jarret Tyszka was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the fifth round of this past summer’s NHL Entry Draft … earlier this week, they acquired forward Noah Philp in a trade with the Kootenay Ice for a pair of draft picks … tonight’s game will be the first for the Thunderbirds on home ice since Game 5 of the WHL Finals vs. Regina.
