Play Street Hockey With the Tips. July 8 at Clark Park.
EVERETT, Wash. – The Everett Silvertips, five-time U.S. Division champions of the Western Hockey League, is scheduled to host the 2017 Silvertips Street Hockey Tournament presented by Wolfe Plumbing & Wolfe Fire Protection at Clark Park, July 8 in downtown Everett.
The Saturday tournament, with starting times in the morning to be announced, partners with the Everett Parks & Recreation Department and the Everett Youth Hockey Booster Club to bring the game to the masses, regardless of age and skill level.=
Teams of 5-8 players are encouraged to register at the link below and cost is $20 per player through June 14 ($27 on June 15 and after). Scheduled to appear and play in the event are former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Marcus Trufant and Washington Huskies running back Terry Hollimon of “The Barbershop Show,” heard on KJR 950 AM. Silvertips players, coaches, and additional notables appearing at the event will be announced soon.

The day-long tournament, played on foot, will be hosted at Clark Park’s tennis court facilities and includes food, games, music and additional activities. Prizes and signed memorabilia will be awarded to the winning teams.
Each team will be comprised of five to eight players participating in “four-on-four” game play with four players & one goalie on the court at a time (adult recreational division will use “shooter tutors” instead of goalies). The Silvertips will provide nets, boards, and officials. Registered teams must provide their own sticks, helmets (required for 16 & under) and USA Hockey approved goalie equipment. Athletic “court style” shoes, shin guards and gloves are strongly recommended.
The competition will feature a round robin-style schedule, culminating in a single elimination playoff.
Teams will be placed in the following age groups: 14U, Recreational Adult, and Competitive Adult. To ensure balanced competition and effective scheduling, a cap may be installed on the number of teams in each age group.
