Prospect Mark Liwiski Signs WHL Standard Player Agreement
EVERETT, Wash. – The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips), five time U.S. Division champions of the Western Hockey League, and general manager Garry Davidson announced today the team has signed prospect forward Mark Liwiski (LEW-ih-skee) to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.
Liwiski, who will wear jersey #13, joins the Silvertips in town today, who open the WHL Playoffs on Friday in downtown Everett. Earning the top record in the Western Conference after capturing their fifth U.S. Division title in 14 seasons, the Silvertips open the WHL Playoffs at XFINITY Arena in Game 1 of the first round against the Victoria Royals, starting at 7:35 p.m. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Ticket packs are on sale at www.everettsilvertips.com/playoffs.
“Mark is a forward we pursued with high priority on signing and we’re excited about his commitment to the Silvertips family and the Western Hockey League,” said Davidson. “He has continuously developed as a forward putting up terrific offensive numbers and committing to a full ‘200-foot’ game. He is a player who has made a large impression from our training camp to the end of his season.”

We admire his ultra-competitive and fearless approach, which made him a fierce ‘go-to guy’ in a very good league this past season.”
The 2001-born forward was tied for ninth in league scoring and led the Parkland Rangers (MMHL) with 54 points (25g-29a) in 37 games, while ranking third in league penalty minutes (121). He additionally led the Rangers in goals (25), assists (29) and was tied for the club’s lead in playoff scoring with five points in three games.
He was selected by the Silvertips in the third round (58th overall) of the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft. Last season, Liwiski was tied for second in league scoring and led Parkland’s Bantam AAA squad with 91 points (39g-52a) in 35 games, additionally leading the league in assists (52) and ranking second in penalty minutes (114).
Liwiski is the fourth member of the 2016 Silvertips draft class to sign with the franchise, joining forward Ethan Browne, goaltender Dustin Wolf, and forward Conrad Mitchell.
