EVERETT, Wash. – The Everett Silvertips, five time U.S. Division champions of the Western Hockey League, announced 11 prospects they selected in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft have been selected as participants in their respective Under-16 Provincial Camps.
The following Silvertips 2002-born prospects were selected for provincial camp participation:
TEAM BC (Provincial Camp, July 11-16 at Shawnigan Lake)

TEAM ALBERTA (Provincial Camp, July 4-9 at Camrose)

- (D) Ronan Seeley

TEAM SASKATCHEWAN (SaskFirst Summer Camp, July, at Wilcox)

TEAM MANITOBA (POE Top-40 Camp from May 4-7, Prep Camp scheduled for July)

The camps assist with the selection process for each province’s roster for the Western U16 Challenge Cup, in partnership with the WHL and Hockey Canada, with the schedule to be announced. Last season, six Silvertips from its 2001-born draft class skated in the U16 Challenge Cup (Oct 19-23) in Calgary. First round selection Ethan Browne and prospect Dylan Holloway led Team Alberta to the gold medal, each scoring a goal in the championship game.
The Silvertips selected Ronan Seeley with the first round (20th overall) pick in this year’s WHL Draft. The 2002-born blueliner was fourth in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League, led all Red Deer Rebels (Bantam AAA) defensemen, and was third overall in club scoring with 38 points in 35 games to earn the club’s Most Outstanding Defenseman honors.
The Silvertips, whose roster contains 14 players with experience (1999-born or younger) from last season’s U.S. Division championship, will announce their 2017-18 schedule and training camp details soon.
