TONIGHTS MATCHUP AND SERIES NOTES

Fifth meeting of ten overall between the two U.S. Division opponents, separated by just 48 miles … the Silvertips have won eight straight games – one shy of their season high – and are four points up on Portland for first place in the U.S. Division … last night the Silvertips broke the Thunderbirds five game win streak … the Tips beat the Thunderbirds, 3-1 last night in downtown Everett … the Tips are 70-58-18 all-time against the Thunderbirds and have outscored them, 372-354 in the series … the Tips continue a stretch tonight of three games in three days … they are 15-8-1-0 against opponents from the U.S. Division.

LAST GAME (EVT 3 – SEA 1 / 1-26-18): Matt Fonteyne, reigning WHL Player of the Week, had a power play goal to snap a tie early in the second period and the Everett Silvertips never trailed, defeating the Seattle Thunderbirds, 3-1 before a sellout crowd of 8,164 at Angel of the Winds Arena in downtown Everett on Friday in WHL action. The Silvertips extended their lead to four points for first place in the U.S. Division, paired with Kamloops’ 5-2 victory over Portland earlier tonight. Connor Dewar had a third period goal to put the game away and Bryce Kindopp, filling in on top line duty, opened the scoring.
