Second of six meetings between the Silvertips and Giants this season … the Silvertips have won 17 of the last 22 games and have surged into first place in the U.S. Division … the Giants last played on Dec. 17 and defeated Prince George, 2-0 – the Giants have won 8 of the last 9 games … the Silvertips won five of six meetings last season with Vancouver (5-0-1-0) and are 24-5-2-0 in the series since 2012-13 … the last time they met in Langley was Dec. 27, 2016 and Vancouver defeated Everett, 5-4 in overtime.

LAST GAME (EVT 8 – POR 3 / 12-17-17): A total of 13 players hit the scoresheet and the Everett Silvertips used a season high eight goals to crush the Portland Winterhawks in an 8-3 victory before 3,817 fans in downtown Everett in WHL action, lifting the Silvertips into first place in the U.S. Division. The Tips, who began Oct. 27 in last place, ripped five unanswered goals in the second period. Bryce Kindopp, who had first star honors, had a two goal effort. The Tips earned 20 or more wins by the 36-game position for the fifth straight season … they improved to 10-3-2-0-0 in games before the holiday break.

  • TORRID TIPS: The Tips are 17-4-0-1 in the last 22 games and are 8-1-0-0 in the month of December … they have won 11 of the last 12 games … six different Silvertips have registered game winning goals in December … Patrick Bajkov leads the Silvertips with 14 points and six goals in 9 games during the month.
  • HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF: 2001-born goaltender Dustin Wolf has five wins in his first seven appearances … his first career shutout (31 saves) came on Dec. 16 vs. Prince George in a 4-0 win … he was named CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Oct. 30 … he is 3-1-0-0 with a 2.50 GAA, one shutout, and .922 save pct. in December.
  • DAY-BY-DAVIS: Kevin Davis, in his overage season, is tied for seventh among WHL defensemen with 32 points in 35 games … he became the fourth player in Tips history to suit up in 300 games on Nov. 22 at Tri-City … Davis has 14 points in the last 16 games.
  • SPECIAL DELIVERIES: For the Silvertips special teams, the penalty kill is 1st in the WHL (86.1) … Connor Dewar leads the Silvertips with seven power play goals.  
  • HALF WAY POLE: The Silvertips reached the 20-win plateau through 36 games for the fifth straight season … their 44 points, under head coach Dennis Williams, is the second highest point total in franchise history at the 36-game mark under any first year Tips head coach (Kevin Constantine, 48 points in 2013-14, first season of his second stint).
