The Silvertips will battle the Spokane Chiefs for the sixth meeting this season … the Tips have won ten of 11 games, earning points in all and are 13-3-1-0 against teams from the U.S. Division … the Tips have the most points (51) in the Western Conference and trail only Prince Albert (57) for most in the entire WHL … the Tips are 64-56-10 in the all-time series and are 27-35-5 in Spokane … the Tips finished a stretch of playing in 10 of 13 games at home, going 9-0-1 in the stretch at home.

LAST TIME OUT:

EVT 2 – SPO 0 (12-9-18): The Everett Silvertips extended their winning streak to nine games as forward Bryce Kindopp scored two goals and goaltender Dustin Wolf remained perfect, stopping 21 of 21 shots, his 7th career WHL shutout, as the Everett Silvertips defeated the Spokane Chiefs, 2-0, before 4,873 fans at A.O.T.W. Arena on Sunday night. Wolf moved up to 5th all-time in shutouts in Silvertips history. Kindopp lit the lamp first with 4:26 to go in regulation and followed it up with an empty netter with 12 seconds remaining. The Tips ended a stretch of playing in 10 of 13 games at home with a 9-0-1 in their set of home games and moved to within six points of the top record in the league, held by the Prince Albert Raiders.

  • MOVIN’ ON UP: The Tips entered today ranked #6 in the CHL Top-10 rankings … they have resided in the Top 10 for the last three weeks … the Tips have won or gained points in 16 of the past 18 games … their 51 points are second most in the WHL.
  • NO, THIS IS NOT A PLAYOFF SERIES: The Tips and Spokane Chiefs face off for the third time in the last calendar week … by the end of tonight, both teams will have face off in a previous span of five times in 29 days … the Tips will visit Spokane on their first game out of the holiday break, Dec. 28 (7th of 8 meetings).
  • GOALTENDING ORIENTED: Tips goaltender Dustin Wolf was named WHL Goaltender of the Week for the third time of the season on Monday and CHL Goaltender of the Week (2nd of his career) on Tuesday … his 21 save shutout on Sunday was the 7th of his career, moving to 5th all-time in Tips history (surpassing Thomas Heemskerk and Kent Simpson) … fellow goaltender Max Palaga earned his first career WHL shutout on Dec. 1 when he stopped 36 shots in a 3-0 win vs. Kootenay.
  • FIRST THING’S FIRST: The Tips are 20-0-0-0 when they score the first goal of the game this season … they are the last remaining team in the WHL with a 1.000 win percentage when scoring first.
  • MAX POWER: Tips forward Max Patterson collected a point in his first two games since joining the Tips on Dec. 3 … his first goal as a Silvertip on Dec. 8 at Seattle stood as the game winner.

Arena the host venue for USA Hockey’s training camp for the upcoming 2019 IIHF World Junior Championships … Team USA – unveiling their preliminary roster on Dec. 5 – will include Jack Hughes (projected #1 overall pick in the upcoming NHL Draft) and skate in downtown Everett between Dec. 14-18, showcasing a collection of the top end U.S. born players under 20 years of age … all practices starting at 11am this Saturday will be open to the public.
