TRADE DEADLINE: Tips Re-acquire Gerth, Get Sharp from Portland
EVERETT, Wash. – The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips) and general manager Garry Davidson announced today that the team has acquired forward Spencer Gerth from the Victoria Royals in exchange for a seventh round selection in the 2019 WHL Draft, and forward Bronson Sharp from the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for a fifth round selection in the 2020 WHL Draft.
The Silvertips also completed the following transactions:

- (F) Michael Horon: rights acquired by the Lethbridge Hurricanes from the Silvertips in exchange for a sixth round selection in the 2019 WHL Draft

“Toward the end of the trade deadline we’ve been actively exploring ways to supplement our club when possible,” said Davidson. “With Spencer we warmly welcome back an individual we’re familiar with as an exemplary teammate, citizen, and player who isn’t afraid to play a hard-nosed style. Bronson brings an intense style that is high energy in all areas of the ice and seems to be a great fit for how we desire to play. Gerth, a 98-born forward, returns to the club with whom he made his WHL debut with in 2014-15 and has 156 games of WHL experience with the Silvertips and Victoria Royals, collecting 10 points (5g-5a) and 114 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-3, 201-pound native of Langley, British Columbia made his debut with the Silvertips in the 2015 WHL Playoffs and appeared in a career high 61 games last season between Everett and Victoria, posting a pair of goals and an assist with 43 penalty minutes. He has six points (3g-3a) and 31 penalty minutes this season with Victoria.

Sharp, a 99-born forward, has a pair of goals and three assists with 44 penalty minutes in 84 career games with the Winterhawks. This year the 5-foot-11, 170-pound forward has a pair of goals and an assist with 17 penalty minutes and a +1 rating with Portland in 38 games.
The Mission, British Columbia native was originally a listed forward with the Winterhawks and prior to his WHL debut was second in scoring with Yale Hockey Academy Prep (CSSHL), racking up 37 points (16g-21) in 22 games for the 2015-16 season.
