Cochrane Dealt to Tri-City for Draft Pick

EVERETT – The Everett Silvertips today announced a trade that sends rookie defenseman Carter Cochrane to the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a conditional seventh round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

Cochrane, 18, played 31 games for the Silvertips in his first WHL season, notching one assist, 15 penalty minutes and a -8 plus/minus rating.  The Kamloops, BC native was an Everett listed player who spent last season with the BCHL’s Chilliwack Chiefs and also skated in two games with the ‘Tips last year, recording an assist and five penalty minutes.  Listed at 5-foot-11 and 190-pounds, Cochrane has also spent time at forward this season.

The Silvertips conclude their six-game East Division road trip Saturday night against the Swift Current Broncos at 5:00 pm Pacific time, with radio coverage starting at 4:30 on Fox Sports 1380.  The ‘Tips will then return home to XFINITY Arena for back-to-back divisional games next Friday and Saturday against the Spokane Chiefs and Seattle Thunderbirds.
