Everett, WA - Vice President / General Manager Doug Soetaert announced Friday that Tyler Kieffer has agreed to join the Everett Silvertips and will be with the club at some point this weekend. Kieffer, a 1989-born defenseman, had previously been playing with the USHL's Lincoln Stars.
A native of Stillwater, MN, Kieffer had appeared in nineteen games with Lincoln, recording one assist. Standing 5'11 and weighing 200 pounds, he had accumulated eighteen penalty minutes in his time in the USHL. He becomes the second player this season to appear on both the Silvertips' and Stars' roster after goaltender David Reekie began the season with Everett before a mid-November transfer to Lincoln.
Kieffer becomes the fourth American-born player on the current roster, joining Zack Dailey (Alaska), Eric English (Washington), and Shane Harper (California).
The regular season continues Friday, December 28th at Key Arena as the Silvertips take on the rival Seattle Thunderbirds in a Western Hockey League contest beginning at 7:35 pm. For ticket information, including season seats and ticket packages, please call the Silvertips' front office at (425) 252-5100. As always, radio coverage of Silvertips hockey will be provided by ESPN Radio KRKO 1380, while highlights of audio broadcast, video packages and relevant multimedia will be provided by the Western Hockey League's website, www.whl.ca.
