Jordyn Boyd Signed to WHL Educational Contract

Everett, WA - Everett Silvertips Vice President / General Manager Doug Soetaert announced Tuesday that the Silvertips have signed forward Jordyn Boyd of Winnipeg, Manitoba, to a WHL Educational Contract.
Boyd, born in 1994, was selected by the Silvertips in the sixth round of this year's WHL Bantam Draft. The 6'0, 165 pound forward spent the 2009-10 season with the Winnipeg Hawks of the Winnipeg AAA Midget League, where he finished third in the league with 62 points by virtue of 27 goals and 35 assists. Earlier this year, he won a silver medal with Team Manitoba at the inaugural Under-16 Western Canada Challenge Cup, where he tying for third amongst the tournament's leading scorers with five points on two goals and three assists. He is the younger brother of Nashville Predators forward Dustin Boyd.
The Silvertips open the 2010 WHL Playoffs at home with a pair of home games on Friday and Saturday, March 19th and 20th against the Kelowna Rockets to begin a best-of-seven series. Everett, following a regular season in which they tied for the conference lead with 97 total points, finished 46-21-3-2 to mark the second most successful regular season in club history.
