Lukas Vartovnik's two goals came in a losing effort |
Everett, WA - Tyler Swistun's power play goal 1:20 into overtime lifted the Portland Winter Hawks over the Everett Silvertips by a 7-6 count Saturday afternoon in Kennewick, WA. Lukas Vartovnik's second goal of the game tied the score at six with 48 seconds left before the wild finish at the Tri-City Americans' Pre-Season Tournament.
Portland forward Nick Hotson netted a natural hat trick in the second period, part of four goals total to lift the Winter Hawks' offense despite being outshot 33-29. Kyle Beach had a goal and an assist to carry a young Silvertips team that listed Graham Potuer; Tyler Eskesen, Jordan Mistlebacher, Carter Smith, Dane Crowley, Taylor Ellington, Zach Hamil, Vitali Karamnov, Dan Gendur, Leland Irving, Ondrej Fiala and Peter Mueller as scratches.
Brennan Sonne, Matt Ius and Jesse Burt also scored for the Silvertips, who will face off against the host Tri-City Americans Sunday afternoon at 5:00 pm. Be sure to check www.everettsilvertips.com Sunday evening for updates from Toyota Center.
