Silvertips Goalie Camp: Aug 26-29
The Silvertips and Everett Youth Hockey are pleased to introduce a pre-season goaltending camp featuring professional instruction from current Silvertips and former NHL Goaltending Coach Shane Clifford. The camp, which is open to ALL area youth goalies, runs from August 26 through 29 from 4:00-5:00 pm daily at Comcast Arena.
The Silvertips’ goaltending camp is the perfect way for local goalies to develop their skills as they prepare for the upcoming hockey season. Everett Silvertips Goaltending Coach Shane Clifford will provide both group and individual attention for all participants throughout the clinic. Goalies will have the opportunity to work individually on everything from basic movements to the finer details of the position, depending on their individual experience level and strengths/weaknesses.
A balance of drills will offer a competitive and fun atmosphere as campers are taught to continually work toward improving their positioning skills. Once positioning has been understood and demonstrated consistently, students are ready to start learning a series of teachable mechanics and skills that will help young goalies raise their game to a higher level.
Cost for this year’s pre-season goaltending camp is $125 per goalie. CLICK HERE for more information and the camp registration form. Registration space is limited, so sign up today to secure your spot! If you have additional questions, call the Silvertips at 425-252-5100 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
Shane Clifford’s guidance has helped produce most of the top netminders in Silvertips history. Standout overager Jeff Harvey helped the ‘Tips win a Western Conference title in 2004, Mike Wall earned a free-agent NHL contract in 2005, Leland Irving was a first-round NHL draft pick in 2006 and young pupil Kent Simpson would go on to become a second-round choice in 2010. Clifford was hired in 2005-06 as the Goaltending Coach for the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he tutored future Stanley Cup Champion Marc-Andre Fleury in his second NHL season.
Clifford has also coached goalies for a series of other teams at the professional, collegiate, and junior levels in addition to owning and operating the Shane Clifford Goalie School just outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania since 2000. His reputation for quality instruction has built the school into one of the premier goalie training facilities in the United States.
