KENNEWICK – Remi Laurencelle notched the only goal of the game and Carter Hart posted his fourth shutout of the season as the Everett Silvertips defeated the Tri-City Americans by a 1-0 final score Friday night at the Toyota Center. Taking the final regular season matchup between the clubs, the Silvertips finish the ten-game season series with a 5-2-0-3 record and remain four points ahead of Portland for the U.S. Division lead.
Carter Hart (15-4-2-1) stopped 21 shots included a pair of prime shorthanded scoring chances for his third straight win, which was also his fourth shutout to tie Austin Lotz. Remi Laurencelle scored his 19th goal of the year in the first period, with Nikita Scherbak notching his 100th career WHL assist and Noah Juulsen getting his 50th on the play as well.
The first period was mostly even with both teams sending nine shots to the net and successfully killing off one powerplay for the opposition. Remi Laurencelle provided the only scoring at 15:02, receiving a pass from Nikita Scherbak beside the net and sending a quick shot through Eric Comrie to make it 1-0 Silvertips.
Everett spent much of the second period in the Tri-City zone and sent a glut of shots to the net, but was unable to add to the lead. The ‘Tips had one powerplay chance and finished the period with a 17-5 shot advantage, giving them a 26-14 edge in shots for the game. The score remained 1-0 Silvertips heading into the third, where the Americans would outshoot Everett 7-5. The Silvertips remained mostly sound defensively however, blocking plenty of shots to help Hart complete the 1-0 shutout victory.
Eric Comrie (17-17-0-1) was solid in net for Tri-City with 30 saves as Everett finished with a 31-21 shot lead. The Silvertips were scoreless on three powerplay chances, while the Americans were 0 for 1.

The Silvertips are on the road again Saturday night at 7:00 pm for their final matchup of the year against the Vancouver Giants at Pacific Coliseum. Pregame radio coverage begins at 6:30 live on Fox Sports 1380. The ‘Tips will then return home for a pivotal U.S. Division matchup against the Portland Winterhawks Wednesday at 7:05 pm at XFINITY Arena.
