What do Connor Dewar and Ryan Getzlaf have in common?
Both have triggered a WHL teddy bear shower. This year on December 2, 2017 at Teddy Bear Toss, presented by Jersey Mike’s – Evergreen Way, another player will have the chance to score that magic goal launching bears to the ice to be donated to Christmas House and WARM 106.9 Teddy Bear Patrol.
Christmas House is a 100% volunteer based non profit organization that works to provide toys to low income families in Snohomish County. Based right here in Everett, Washington, Christmas House has been a multi season partner of the Everett Silvertips to ensure underprivileged families experience the tangible joys of the holiday season.
HOW IT WORKS?
- Arrive early with as many new or lightly used teddy bears as you can grab wrapped in plastic bags for protection from the ice to watch the Silvertips take on the Saskatoon Blades.
- When the Silvertips score their first goal of the game, toss your teddies on the ice! If there is no score at the end of the first two periods of play (though we have faith in our boys for a snipe long before this) the teddy bear toss will replace our usual chuck a puck during the second intermission of the game.
- Take as many pictures as you’d like, and tag us so we can see all of the pictures and videos of the spectacle (Twitter: @WHLSilvertips / IG: @everett_silvertips).
- If you forget a bear, no worries! Select bears are expected to be on sale in the Tips Team Store when the doors open on game night.
Tickets are on sale here or you can call the Tips office to purchase tickets for the game at (425) 252-5100.
Puck drops at 7:05 pm on December 2, 2017. Doors will open at 6pm!
