TOP 5 TIPS TIDBITS

  • STEADY AS SHE GOES: The Silvertips are the only team in the last 14 WHL seasons to reach the playoffs every season … they have captured five U.S. Division titles, most recently last season when they went 44-16-9-3.
  • ROARING 20’S: All 3 Silvertips in their overage year return for their fifth season with the franchise – forwards Patrick Bajkov and Matt Fonteyne, and defenseman Kevin Davis … all 3 players, if playing the full 72-game schedule, are on pace to break the all-time games played recorded in Tips history, held by Shane Harper (335).
  • GOAL ORIENTED: The Silvertips posted 20 goals in the first five games and in their 4-1 win against Tri-City, posted 52 shots on goal on Sept. 24 … the mark was three shots off the franchise single game record (set vs. Portland, 2006-07) … the Tips are tied for 8th in goals per game (4.0).
  • RILEY ON THE RADAR: Riley Sutter, third year Silvertips forward, was named to the NHL Central Scouting Service’s “Players to Watch” Preliminary list on Oct. 3 (“B” rating) … he has four goals in five games.
  • DEWAR OF GOOD DEEDS: Connor Dewar notched the 48th hat trick in Tips history on Oct. 3 in Spokane and the first of his career (the last 2 Tips hat tricks have been scored in natural fashion – Patrick Bajkov earned his first, 12/2/16 vs. Medicine Hat) … Dewar has a five game point streak and is second in the WHL for shots (25).
