Game 5, Rogers WHL Championship Series … the Silvertips have claimed their second Western Conference title in franchise history … first lifetime matchup between the teams in the postseason and the two teams finished in the top three for points in the regular season (Silvertips were 3rd, 99, Broncos were 2nd, 103) … the Silvertips are 13-4-3 in the postseason … it is Swift Current’s first visit to the Championship Series since 1993 … the Silvertips defeated Swift Current in their only meeting in the regular season, 4-1, in downtown Everett on Jan. 21 … all four games in the WHL Championship Series have been decided by one goal.

GAME 1 (EVT 2 – SC 1 / 5-4-18): Connor Dewar had the game winner and Carter Hart turned in a 34 save, first star effort, and the Everett Silvertips beat the Swift Current Broncos 2-1 in Game 1 of the WHL Championship before 2,890 fans at Credit Union I-Plex on Friday night. With the Tips’ win against the Broncos this evening, they are now up 1-0 in the playoff series against Swift Current with their first WHL Championship series win in franchise history. GAME 2 (SC 4 – EVT 3 (OT) / 5-5-18): Matteo Gennaro scored at 9:27 to lift the Swift Current Broncos over the Everett Silvertips, 4-3 in sudden death overtime to tie the Rogers WHL Championship Series at 1-1, before 2,890 fans at Credit Union iPlex on Saturday night. The Tips grabbed a split through the first two games of the series, facing the next three on home ice in downtown Everett. Matt Fonteyne, Martin Fasko-Rudas and Riley Sutter parked first period goals while Carter Hart turned in 34 saves. SHOTS: EVT 43 – SC 38

GAME 3 (SC 3 – EVT 2 (OT) / 5-8-18): Glenn Gawdin collected a hat trick to and the Swift Current Broncos defeated the Everett Silvertips in sudden death overtime, 3-2 in Game 3 of the Rogers WHL Championship Series before  4,872 fans at Angel of the Winds on Tuesday night. Matt Fonteyne and Riley Sutter picked up the goal scoring for the Silvertips. Jake Christiansen contributed for the Silvertips with a pair of assists. SHOTS: EVT 39 – SC 32

GAME 4 (SC 1 – EVT 0 / 5-9-18): Stuart Skinner recorded his fifth shutout of the postseason on 32 saves and the Swift Current Broncos snuck past the Everett Silvertips, 1-0 in Game 4 of the Rogers WHL Championship Series before 5,081 fans at Angel of the Winds on Wednesday night. Swift Current leads the best of seven series, 3-1. Carter Hart put up 18 saves in net as the two teams battled through the fourth consecutive one-goal game of the Championship Series.   • PLAYOFF PRIMED: The Silvertips have never missed the postseason in 15 years of play in the WHL, extending a current WHL record streak … this season they won their sixth U.S. Division title and second Western Conference title … the Tips went 18-7-2-3 in 1-goal games and 25-8-2-1 at home in the regular season.

Both Silvertips Western Conference championships have been clinched on the road, and in sudden death overtime … Jeff Schmidt helped the Silvertips (in their expansion year) defeat the Kelowna Rockets, 4-3 in the 2004 series in a 2-1 overtime win at Prospera Place … Kevin Davis clinched the title this season in Game 6 at Toyota Center, 6-5 in overtime in Game 6 over the Tri-City Americans for a 4-2 series victory.



GAME 1 (EVT 3 – TC 2 / 4-20-18): Garrett Pilon scored twice and earned the eventual game winner late in the second period, and the Everett Silvertips were able to hang onto the lead to win Game 1 of the Western Conference Championship Series, 3-2 over the Tri-City Americans before 5,181 fans at Angel of the Winds Arena on Friday night. Connor Dewar chipped in with a goal and an assist while Riley Sutter earned a pair of assists. Carter Hart turned in a 24 save effort while the Tips became the first team to hand Tri-City a loss in the playoffs. SHOTS: EVT 33 – TC 26 … GAME 2 (TC 5 – EVT 3 / 4-21-18): Maxwell James broke a tie game in the third period with his first goal of the postseason to help the Tri-City Americans sneak past the Everett Silvertips, 5-3 in Game 2 of the Western Conference Championship   before 6,401 fans at Angel of the Winds Arena on Saturday night. With the Tips’ loss against the Americans, the series is now tied 1-1 for the third consecutive round in the Silvertips postseason. Matt Fonteyne, Patrick Bajkov, and Garrett Pilon each netted a goal on the Silvertips side. The Tips power play netted a 2-of-4 effort, including two tallies in the opening period. SHOTS: EVT 40 – TC 27  … GAME 3 (EVT 8 – TC 4 / 4-23-18): Patrick Bajkov collected his second hat trick of the postseason while Garrett Pilon pumped in three points to help smash a tie game in the third period, en route to an 8-4 victory for the Everett Silvertips over the  Tri-City Americans before 3,268 fans at Toyota Center on Monday night in Game 3 of the Western Conference Championship Series. The Tips broke a 4-4 deadlock in the third by scoring four goals in a span of 4:50, taking a 2-1 lead in the series. Carter Hart picked up the victory in net with 29 saves while the  Tips set a new franchise record for most goals in a playoff game. SHOTS: TC 33 – EVT 28  … GAME 4 (EVT 3 – TC 1 / 4-26-18): Carter Hart recorded 29 saves while the Everett Silvertips led wire to wire, en route to a 3-1 victory over the Tri-City Americans in Game 4 of the Western Conference Championship Series, before 3,537 fans at Toyota Center on Thursday. The Silvertips seized a 3-1 lead in the series and can advance to the WHL Championship Series with a victory on Saturday, in Game 5 in downtown Everett. Reece Vitelli earned the game winner while Riley Sutter broke a scoreless tie in the second period. Matt Fonteyne earned he game winner on an empty net opportunity with less than 40 seconds remaining, lifting the Silvertips to a 6-0 road record in the postseason. SHOTS: TC 30 – EVT 26 … GAME 5 (TC 5 – EVT 2 / 4-28-18): Juuso Välimäki scored twice, including the eventual winner for the Tri-City Americans to get past the Everett Silvertips, 5-2 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Championship at Angel of the Winds Arena on Saturday night before a crowd of 7,812. Patrick Dea made 35 saves as the Americans overcame the Silvertips in an elimination game. The Tips lead the series 3-2 as they’ll head back to Kennewick for game six. Connor Dewar scored both goals for Everett in the loss. The Silvertips were 4-for-4 on the penalty kill. SHOTS: EVT 37 – TC 24  … GAME 6 (EVT 6 – TC 5 (OT) / 4-30-18): Kevin Davis capped an elimination comeback on a blast from center point for a game winning power play goal at 5:58 of sudden death to lift the Everett Silvertips to the Western Conference championship and a berth in the Rogers WHL Championship Series, in a 6-5 overtime victory over the Tri-City Americans in Game 6. The Silvertips won the series, 4-2 and earned their second Western Conference title in franchise history before 3,033 fans at Toyota Center on Monday. The Silvertips rallied from a 5-2 deficit in the third period with three goals in a span of 4:37 and Garrett Pilon tied the game just 36 seconds after Davis scored his first goal of the night to draw the Tips to within a goal. Patrick Bajkov scored a pair of goals.



GAME 1 (POR 5 – EVT 2 / 4-6-18): The Everett Silvertips were unable to recover from a three goal deficit and the Portland Winterhawks used goals from five different sources to defeat the Tips, 5-2 before 4,286 fans at Angel of the Winds Arena in Game 1 of the second round of the 2018 WHL Playoffs. Matt Fonteyne and Sean Richards scored goals for the Tips in the second period, who nearly climbed completely out of a 3-0 hole. SHOTS: POR 36 – EVT 34  … GAME 2 (EVT 6 – POR 0 / 4-7-18): Patrick Bajkov earned his first career playoff hat trick, added an assist, and Carter Hart turned in his fourth career playoff shutout on 26 saves as the Everett Silvertips cruised to a 6-0 victory over the Portland Winterhawks in Game 2 of the second round of the WHL playoffs in front of 5,631 fans at Angel of the Winds Arena. The Silvertips tied the series, 1-1. The Tips earned their largest margin of victory, bouncing back one night after dropping a 5-2 loss on home ice in Game 1. Martin Fasko-Rudas, Garrett Pilon and Sean Richards spelled the offense with a goal each, while Matt Fonteyne earned a pair of assists. SHOTS: EVT 32 – POR 26  … GAME 3 (EVT 6 – POR 2 / 4-10-18): Riley Sutter scored twice in a three goal first period, and Carter Hart made 40 saves to lift the Everett Silvertips to a 6-2 victory over the Portland Winterhawks in Game 3 of the second round of the WHL Playoffs before 4,453 fans at Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Tuesday. The Tips lead the best-of-seven series, 2-1. Kevin Davis manufactured a pair of assists and was +3 from the blueline while 12 different Silvertips recorded a point in the game. The Silvertips improved to 3-0 on the road during the WHL Playoffs. SHOTS: POR 42 – EVT 28  … GAME 4 (EVT 3 – POR 2 / 4-12-18): Wyatte Wylie busted a tie game with 1:12 left in regulation, completing an insane comeback of two goals in a span of 46 seconds to lift the Everett Silvertips to an incredible 3-2 victory in Game 4 over the Portland Winterhawks before 7,312 fans at Moda Center on Thursday in second round WHL Playoff action. The Silvertips took the lead in the best-of-seven series, 3-1. The Tips launched their comeback just nine seconds after Henri Jokiharju put the Winterhawks ahead with 2:07 left on a power play goal. Garrett Pilon banged in a rebound to tie the game with 1:58 left, then Wyatte Wylie’s right point shot snuck through traffic with 1:12 to play. SHOTS: POR 44 – EVT 26  … GAME 5 (EVT 4 – POR 0 / 4-13-18): The Everett Silvertips broke open a one goal lead in the third period and cruised to a 4-0 victory in game five of round two of the WHL playoffs, eliminating the Portland Winterhawks in a 4-1 series victory on Friday in front 6,220 fans at Angel of the Winds Arena to advance to the Western Conference Final for the first time since 2006. Jake Christiansen led the Silvertips with a pair of goals, including the game winner in the second period. Carter Hart and Dustin Wolf combined to make 34 saves in holding the Winterhawks at bay all night long. SHOTS: EVT 31 – POR 28



GAME 1 (EVT 4 – SEA 1 / 3-23-18): The Everett Silvertips jumped out in front of the Seattle Thunderbirds early and maintained a sizeable lead throughout the game in a 4-1 victory, in Game 1 of the WHL Playoffs first round before 4,247 fans at Angels of the Winds Arena on Friday night. Patrick Bajkov was the first star of the game with a pair of goals, while Garrett Pilon and Bryce Kindopp each earned a goal. Matt Fonteyne collected 3 assists. SHOTS: EVT 46 – SEA 26  … GAME 2 (SEA 5 – EVT 4 (OT) / 3-24-18): Garrett Pilon’s hat trick forced overtime with less than a minute left in regulation but Zack Andrusiak’s winner at 5:04 helped the Seattle Thunderbirds sneak by the Everett Silvertips, 5-4 in sudden death overtime before 5,694 fans at Angels of the Winds Arena on Saturday night … the best-of-seven series is tied, 1-1 … Pilon’s hat trick was the first in postseason for the Tips since Carson Stadnyk accomplished his against Spokane, Mar. 27, 2015 against the Spokane Chiefs. Martin Fakso-Rudas got the other Tips goal while three separate Tips registered multi point games. SHOTS: EVT 49 – SEA 33  … GAME 3 (EVT 3 – SEA 1 / 3-27-18): Matt Fonteyne scored twice and Carter Hart furnished 33 saves to lift the Everett Silvertips to a 3-1 victory and a 2-1 series lead over the Seattle Thunderbirds before 5,600 fans at accesso ShoWare Center on Tuesday night in WHL Playoff action. The Silvertips recovered from an early 1-0 deficit and 22 shots by Seattle in the first ten minutes before Reece Vitelli tied the game. They recaptured home ice advantage in the series and outshot Seattle, 25-10 in the final 40 minutes. SHOTS: EVT 37 – SEA 34  … GAME 4 (EVT 7 – SEA 3 / 3-30-18): The Everett Silvertips took a commanding lead in the first period with three goals and the Seattle Thunderbirds were unable to cue the comeback, in a 7-3 Silvertips victory in Game 4 of the WHL Playoffs’ first round before 4,175 fans at accesso ShoWare Arena on Friday night. Seven different Silvertips scored in the game, producing a wire to wire effort while Connor Dewar, who scored the first penalty shot goal in Silvertips playoff history, earned first star honors with a goal and pair of assists. Kevin Davis earned third star honors on the backend with a goal and an assist, and was +3 on the evening. SHOTS: EVT 36 – SEA 31  … GAME 5 (EVT 4 – SEA 0 / 3-31/18): The Everett Silvertips eliminated the Seattle Thunderbirds in a 4-1 series victory, winning Game 5, 4-0 before 6,179 fans at Angel of the Winds Arena in downtown Everett on Saturday in WHL Playoff action. The Silvertips have advanced to the second round for the fourth straight season, knocking out their U.S. Division rivals by outscoring the Thunderbirds, 11-3 in the final two games.
