GAME RECAP: Americans halt late rally by Tips, hang on for 2-1 victory

KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Tri-City Americans staved off a late flurry by the Everett Silvertips to hang on for a 2-1 victory at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.

Lukas Dragicevic scored first for the Tri-City Americans with a tremendous single-handed effort looping around the offensive zone, giving the Tri-City Americans a 1-0 lead through two. Jalen Luypen gave the Americans a multi-goal lead 1:13 into the third with his fifth goal of the season.

Though Caden Zaplitny potted his ninth of the year to bring the Tips back within one, Tri-City hung on for the win.

Tyler Palmer stopped 37 of 39 in the loss for Everett.

The Silvertips have two home games this weekend, including a matchup with the Swift Current Broncos tomorrow night at 6 p.m. and a rematch with the Americans Sunday at 4 p.m. Tickets are available by clicking HERE.
