GAME RECAP: Berezowski sets record, Tips grab point in 6-5 overtime loss in Kent

KENT, Wash. — Jackson Berezowski became the Silvertips’ all-time leading goal-scorer Friday night in a back-and-forth affair that resulted in a 6-5 overtime win for the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Austin Roest opened the scoring 7:34 into the first period with his 27th goal of the season, answered in the first by a Kyle Crnkovic short-handed tally. Seattle jumped to a 3-1 advantage in the second period with goals by Coster Dunn and Nico Myatovic.
Berezowski netted his record-setting 113th career goal at 13:16, banging in a rebound to bring the Silvertips to within one. The goal catapults Berezowski past Patrick Bajkov for the franchise all-time lead, accomplished in 252 career games to Bajkov’s 342. He would strike for a second time in the game just 13 seconds into the third period, evening up the score at three with his 32nd goal of the season.

Kevin Korchinski restored the Seattle lead at 3:08, only to be answered by a Roan Woodward penalty shot goal at 4:15. Though Brad Lambert scored a powerplay goal at 10:38 to again give the T-Birds an advantage, Beau Courtney evened the score at 5-5 with a tally at 13:16, sending the game to overtime.
Brad Lambert netted the game-winner 54 seconds into the 3-on-3 overtime period.
