GAME RECAP: Giants catch luck of the Irish, down Tips 3-0 in Langley

LANGLEY, B.C. — Two unfortunate bounces sank the Silvertips in Langley on Friday night, as the Giants took a 3-0 victory on St. Patrick’s Day.
Laden Lipinski scored the first goal of the game at 11:41 in the first period, powering to the net with his initial shot stopped by Tyler Palmer, but a rebound ricocheted off the chest of Everett defender Eric Jamieson to the back of the net for a 1-0 Vancouver lead.
The Giants struck again at 15:56 in the second period, as a Colton Roberts shot from the boards rebounded off Palmer’s leg pads and off Everett blueliner Ty Gibson for a second Vancouver tally.
Ty Thorpe contributed his 35th goal of the season in the third period. Jesper Vikman turned aside 32 for his fourth career WHL shutout.
Lukas Kaplan (’07) skated in his first career WHL game for the Silvertips.
