The Silvertips had some huge crease front chances during two power play opportunities in the opening frame.

The Thunderbirds took a 1-0 lead at 9:34 in the second as forward Nolan Volcan deflected a shot to convert with nine seconds left on a the first Seattle power play of the night. Forward Sean Richards fed Simon Kubicek at the blue line, who took a shot into traffic and tipped past Wolf.

Everett forward Robbie Holmes answered back to tie the game, 1-1, at 14:37. Forward Zack Andrusiak led captain Connor Dewar into the offensive zone for a two-on-one chance, where Holmes picked up centering pass and batted the puck in on the blocker side of Ross.

The Silvertips continued to hold the edge on shots, 34-13, after 40 minutes of play.

Volcan gave Seattle a 2-1 lead at 17:39 in the third. Volcan picked up a bouncing puck off the backboards and stashed a one-timer. Matthew Wedman and Kubicek both recorded assists on the play.

Thunderbird Tyrel Bauer committed a checking from behind penalty at 18:09 in the third, giving the Silvertips a late 6-on-4 opportunity as Wolf was pulled for the extra attacker, opening the door for one last flurry of Tips scoring chances that fell short.
