TONIGHT’S MATCHUP AND SERIES NOTES

First in downtown Everett since Dec. 2, 2017 … 17th all-time meeting and the Tips are 11-2-1-2 all-time against Saskatoon … they have won seven games in a row against the Blades … first meeting in downtown Everett with the return of Mitch Love, who previously served nine season as a player and coach in the Silvertips organization, and is now head coach of the Blades … the Tips are 5-2-1-0-0 at home, all-time against Saskatoon and 2-0-1-0 against opponents from the East Division.

Dustin Wolf moved into third place on the franchise all-time list with his 13th career shutout and Wyatte Wylie’s power play goal stood as the eventual winner to lift the Everett Silvertips to a 2-0 victory over the Spokane Chiefs on Sunday, before 4,123 fans at Angel of the Winds Arena in downtown Everett in WHL action. Rebounding from a 5-4 overtime loss the night prior against Winnipeg, the Tips earned a point for the 10th time in 11 games while maintaining their first place lead in the U.S. Division. They improved to 4-0-0-0 against Spokane this season and have won 10 of their last 12 regular season meetings.

1) HOWLING GOOD TIME: Dustin Wolf is the WHL leader with a .939 save percentage and tied for the league lead with three shutouts … on Sunday he earned his 13th career shutout to move into third place, all-time on the Tips shutout list (passing Michael Wall).
2) THREE’S COMPANY The Tips moved up to #3 in the CHL Top-10 poll, released on Wednesday … they have won 12 of their last 15 games … they are 10-0-1-0 in one-goal games and 8-0-1-0 when leading after two periods this season.
