U.S. PROSPECTS DRAFT // 1pm PT Wednesday

The 2020 WHL U.S. Prospects Draft (1pm PT / will represent a new frontier for the WHL, host of the top talent in the world between ages 16-20. Starting Wednesday, two rounds will offer WHL teams to select draft picks for eligible U.S. born prospects.

The draft, inaugural this season, will consist of two rounds, and 44 selections, with each WHL Club afforded the opportunity to make two draft choices.

The Silvertips this season (leading the league with 46 wins) ended with six U.S. born players on their roster:

  • Dustin Wolf (G) / Tustin, Calif. – Selected, Calgary Flames (2019 NHL Draft)
  • Braden Holt (G) / Bozeman, Mont.
  • Dawson Butt (RW) / Buckley, Wash.
  • Brendan Lee (LW) / Seattle, Wash.
  • Hunter Campbell (RW) / Everett, Wash.
  • Wyatte Wylie (D) / Everett, Wash. –  Selected, Philadelphia Flyers (2018 NHL Draft)

Players eligible for the 2020 WHL U.S. Prospects Draft will be 2005-born players who reside in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Players not selected in the 2020 WHL U.S. Prospects Draft will remain eligible to be selected in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft, or listed by a WHL Club at any time thereafter.
