Harrison Headed to NHL Camp in Vancouver

EVERETT, WA – The Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League today announced that forward Ryan Harrison will take part in a National Hockey League rookie camp with the Vancouver Canucks next month.  Harrison will start training camp with the Silvertips next week before joining the Canucks in September.

Harrison, 19, is set to return for his fourth year in the WHL and first full season in Everett in 2011-12 after being acquired from Medicine Hat in a January trade.  The Kelowna, British Columbia native scored eight goals and totaled 19 points to go with 55 penalty minutes in 29 games with the Tips last season.  In 40 appearances with the Tigers prior to the trade, he had 33 points (13g/20a), a +10 rating and 47 PIMs.

A 5-10, 183-pound center, Harrison played his first two WHL seasons with Prince Albert after being selected by the Raiders in the second round of the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft.  He skated in 136 games for the Raiders from 2007 – 2010, recording 89 points (28g/61a) and 248 penalty minutes in that time.  In his WHL career, Harrison has compiled 49 goals, 92 assists, 141 points and 350 penalty minutes in a total of 205 games.

The ninth home opener in Silvertips history is set for Saturday, September 24 against the Kelowna Rockets at Comcast Arena.  Season tickets and mini game packages for the 2011-2012 season are on sale now and can be purchased in person at the team office inside Comcast Arena or by phone at 425-252-5100.
