EVERETT – After raising more than $90,000 for the fight against breast cancer with “Pink the Rink” last month, the Everett Silvertips have now turned our attention towards fighting men’s cancers and other men’s health concerns with another Movember campaign all month long!
Movember is a global men’s health charity engaging men to grow and women to support the Mo (moustache) for the 30 days of November. Through the power of the moustache, awareness and funds are raised for men’s health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. These “Mo Bros” effectively become walking, talking billboards throughout the month, inspiring conversation about around the often ignored issue of men’s health and seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.
CLICK HERE to visit the Silvertips’ Movember team page and make your donation online. You can donate to the team or individually to your favorite player or the best moustache you see among the players and staff members. You can also join our Movember effort by creating your own profile, joining our team and encouraging your own family, friends and co-workers to donate to your page!
The funds raised in the US are directed to programs run directly by Movember and their men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG Foundation. Together, th channels work together to ensure that Movember funds are supporting a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in line with their strategic goals in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.
Last year the Silvertips finished among the top fundraising teams in the entire Canadian Hockey League, and we’re hoping to surpass that effort to raise even more money this year. Watch throughout the month as our moustaches and donation totals continue to grow, and help us spread the word!
