EVERETT, Wash. – In a February 2 battle against the Kelowna Rockets, Silvertips veteran and decorated forward Patrick Bajkov scored his 108th WHL career goal, a landmark snipe in Silvertips history. The top-shelf, power-play goal came off a right side pass from forward Sean Richards, with Kevin Davis (D) and Riley Sutter (RW) on the assist with only 11 seconds left in the first (19:49).
Bajkov’s 108th goal logged made him the all-time leader in points as he broke Silvertips veteran Zach Hamill’s (2004-2008) career record of points.
The Nanaimo, BC, native finished his final season in Everett with 47 goals and 123 points, combining both regular season and playoffs – he also became the first Silvertip to reach 100 points in one season. By the end of the 2017-18 playoffs, he saw a scoring increase of 291.7% from his rookie season. He had five career hat tricks, with four of them logged in the 2017-18 season alone.
In addition to holding the franchise record for all-time goals scored, Bajkov closed out the season holding all-time records in assists and points. He was named to the WHL Western Conference All-Star Team (second team) for the 2017-18 season and on March 9, 2018, signed his first professional contract with the Florida Panthers.
He also earned some well deserved recognition too.
