The story of Shane Harper, a kid with promise from Valencia, Calif. where his hometown Los Angeles Kings forged their trade just about an hour away, is full of inspiration for anyone with a chance to play in the Western Hockey League.
Harper wasn’t drafted. He made the team. Harper wasn’t drafted by an NHL teams. He became captain his final season, and finished the year in the American Hockey League.
That NHL dream was finally realized in 2016-17 when he didn’t just debut with the Florida Panthers: he scored two goals in his debut.
