EVERETT, Wash. – The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips), proud member of the Western Hockey League, and general manager Garry Davidson announced today that the club has signed prospect goaltender Dustin Wolf to a Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.

Wolf was the first goaltender selected by the Silvertips in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft, in the fifth round (104th overall).

“Dustin’s accomplishments and potential made him a high priority of ours to sign as soon as possible,” said Davidson. “We’re very happy to announce his commitment to the Silvertips and the WHL. While his performance in training camp was impressive, his attitude and poise also made a lasting impression. We’re confident about the trajectory he’s taking with his game and looking forward to his continued development in our program.”

“Dustin has continued to develop as a fantastic goalie for several years in our program,” said Jr. Kings coach Nick Vachon. “In my opinion he’s one of the top ’01 goalies in the country. He’s dedicated himself to getting better and it shows – continuously putting a lot of time and energy into working on his skills. We’ve admired his attitude, demeanor, and composure – no matter the situation, he’s been dialed in. It’s left us with no surprise that he’s earned this opportunity.”

Wolf, a 2001-born goaltender, has suited up in the last three seasons with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings program, and this year has compiled a 10-5-1-2 record and a pair of shutouts with the Jr. Kings U16 club. Across the Tier-1 Elite Hockey League, he ranks tied for third in save percentage (.941), sixth in goals against average (1.63), tied for eighth in games (18), and eighth in saves (445).

The Tustin, Calif. native joined the Silvertips for the early phase of training camp this season and teamed with Carter Hart to make 42 saves in a 2-1 victory at the annual Green vs. Grey Game, Aug. 28 at XFINITY Arena.

Wolf will continue playing this season in the Jr. Kings program.

The Silvertips will play next on Friday, with a 7:35 p.m. (1380 AM / 95.3 FM / Tips App) puck drop scheduled at XFINITY Arena vs. the Portland Winterhawks. Ticket specials are available at
